Coldwater Man Attempts To Elude Police

COLDWATER, Ohio -- The Mercer County Prosecutor will determine what charges will be filed against a Coldwater man accused of trying to flee police Monday night.The driver is identified by police as Mark A. Miller, 62.A Coldwater police officer stopped Miller on a traffic violation on Woodview Drive.After refusing to exit his truck, a police officer reached into the vehicle to grab the keys, Miller reportedly put the truck into drive and drove away. Officer Dave Powell was pulled a short distance down the street from the window, but was not injured.The truck was stopped a short time later at West Main Street and North Cedar Street.A struggle ensued, according to the police report, and Miller was stunned with a Taser.When Miller was finally removed from his truck, the vehicle rolled forward into a Coldwater police cruiser and caused minor damage.Coldwater police were aided by Mercer County deputies.
